The Work Behind the Work

The Work Behind the Work

When people think about video production, they usually picture cameras, lights, editing software, and finished content.

Those things matter. I love them. I’ve spent years producing videos, directing shoots, editing content, and helping tell stories.

But recently, I’ve found myself energized by a different side of the work.

The systems behind the content.

The workflows. The processes. The tools. The enablement strategies. The frameworks that help teams create great work consistently.

I’ve learned that some of the most impactful contributions aren’t always the videos themselves—they’re the things that make better videos possible.

Over the past several months, I’ve had the opportunity to focus on communications enablement and content operations. That means helping teams work more efficiently, evaluating new technologies, standardizing approaches, building repeatable workflows, and creating resources that empower communicators to succeed.

The goal isn’t to create more process for the sake of process.

The goal is to remove friction.

When teams have clear workflows, documented best practices, effective templates, and the right tools, they spend less time figuring out how to do the work and more time focusing on what matters: communicating effectively.

I’ve enjoyed helping develop self-service video approaches that balance flexibility with quality. Finding ways to empower communicators while maintaining consistency across content. Exploring how emerging technologies can support creators rather than complicate their jobs.

The technology itself is exciting.

But what excites me even more is seeing people gain confidence because they have the resources and support they need to create.

That’s where enablement becomes powerful.

Whether it’s documenting production workflows, evaluating new platforms, designing scalable systems, or building resources that help others succeed, I’ve discovered that I enjoy creating the infrastructure that supports creativity just as much as the creative work itself.

Good content matters.

But the systems that help people create good content at scale matter too.

And helping build those systems has become one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Feel free to reach out to me any time!
