This year marked my third year co-producing the Columbus 48 Hour Film Project, and I continue to be blown away by the creativity, passion, and collaboration of the local film community. Every year, filmmakers take on the challenge of writing, shooting, and editing a complete short film in just 48 hours—a feat that requires vision, teamwork, and a little bit of magic. And every year, they deliver something amazing.
As part of my role, I had the privilege of contributing to the technical and creative side of the event. I edited the screeners, created the DCP, cut together the highlight reel, and designed the slates with a custom 3D logo animation. These pieces weren’t just tasks—they were opportunities to help showcase the incredible work of Columbus filmmakers in the best light possible. Seeing all of it come together on the big screen was deeply rewarding.
But for me, the most inspiring moment comes at the Best of Fest screening, where the top films are shown and awards are handed out. This year’s event will be held on October 15, 2025 at the Grandview Theater, and I can’t wait to celebrate alongside the talented filmmakers who poured their energy into creating something special. Watching the judges recognize their efforts is always a highlight—it reminds me why this project matters and why I keep coming back to help year after year.
The Columbus 48 Hour Film Project isn’t just a competition—it’s a celebration of storytelling, community, and the power of creativity under pressure. I’m proud to play a small part in uplifting local talent and giving back to a community that inspires me every day.
If you’re in the area, I encourage you to join us at the Grandview Theater for the Best of Fest. You’ll see firsthand what’s possible when creativity meets constraint—and you’ll walk away inspired by the filmmakers who make Columbus shine.
